Context
Business intelligence project and inter-application flows
Challenge
Before an Oracle compliance on ODI v10 software, the objective was to study the compliance of flow usage with respect to licenses contracted with the publisher. This study was also part of the overall architecture study for the version upgrade to ODI 11
Technologies used
DBMS: MSSQL Server multiple versions • ETL: Oracle ODI 10
Methodology and implementation
This business intelligence architecture study aimed to map all ODI flows and identify potential non-compliances before an Oracle audit.
ODI metadata was analyzed to extract information on processing chains, topologies used, and targets of each interface.
The analysis made it possible to precisely identify which interfaces used technologies not covered by current licenses and to propose alternative solutions.
Results
The low number of non-compliant interfaces detected by the analysis made it possible to consider a redesign of processing to remain compliant with licenses. New targets switch either to file mode or to the pivot database.
